You know what else?? We ALL get off track but the BFC is always right there ready for us to start back up at our next meal :)

So here is the link to yogurt recipe that we have been using for years:

http://www.thefrugalgirl.com/2009/10/how-to-make-homemade-yogurt-2/

Here are a few notes:
**With this recipe you can make up to 4 quarts. If you only want to make 2 quarts, just cut the recipe down to a half-gallon.

**When picking out my yogurt starter, I start with a plain (no flavors or added sugars) yogurt. Pick one that has atleast 5 live cultures (the more cultures the better - some even have 7 cultures- we use Horizon's plain, full-fat, yogurt).

**I personally never sterilize my jars or lids - I just run them through the dishwasher.

**We always strain our yogurt as we are putting it into the glass jars because it removes any milk pieces that may have burnt when cooking it - but this is totally up to you.

**We actually let our yogurt sit for atleast 8 hours in the cooler. Then we put it in the fridge to cool over-night. If you try to use it straight from the cooler, it will be runny.

Now to turn your yogurt into Greek yogurt, you will just strain the whey out. Take your yogurt that you have just cooled down in the fridge (or you can even take a store-bought containter of yogurt) and place it in a strainer set over a bowl. I cover the top of the yogurt with a napkin and leave it in the fridge to strain over night. In the morning, what is left in the strainer is your thick, creamy, Greek yogurt (and the whey will be in the bowl). Scoop the yogurt it into a jar and that's all there is to it! I will do an actual post about this in the next month and take pictures as I go along. Send me a note if you have any other questions. :)Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03131375939575832772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883514999354435476.post-57785463580001616862012-06-05T16:32:07.896-07:002012-06-05T16:32:07.896-07:00Katie, I have visited the state of denial many tim...Katie, I have visited the state of denial many times over the years. The good thing is you caught yourself before it got top far. I was also gliding along enjoying the BFC too much and just maintaining when I finally woke up and realized I wasn't finished losing yet and had to get more strict with myself to do so.Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14900189705707651375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883514999354435476.post-84360939320317329162012-06-05T11:32:05.999-07:002012-06-05T11:32:05.999-07:00Haha! Of course it doesn't tell me when my muscle leaves:( I know better!
The good news is that you are doing this when you are young, and hopefully won't have to struggle when you are older.
Just follow through with your goals and you will do great!Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13876597084432433257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883514999354435476.post-63515877889224065772012-06-05T08:24:39.683-07:002012-06-05T08:24:39.683-07:00Hi Katie, you are right we can do this better toget...Hi Katie, you are right we can do this better together.
