Hello friends, man time flies now that I have a job. I don't remember everything I ate, but I did pretty good, pork chops and chard for dinner with several roasted potato wedges. Breakfast's sauteed spinach with 2 fried eggs. Snacks at work, olives, nuts, dark chocolate, baby bell cheese. I did have one minor slip up, while working late I was hungry and I had already eaten my snacks, and I allowed myself 5 pretzels, with one dipped in nutella. I think I need to keep working on the food I bring to work.
Yesterday I went to a natural food market and I bought some bragg's liquid amino acid, tea and spry gum. I can't believe how expensive some things are. I was looking at seeds of change pasta sauce and it was $6.79, I can't imagine spending that much on a jar of pasta. I was also disappointed because I wanted to buy another small bottle of barleans to try a new flavor, but all had in stock yesterday were the big bottles.
Yesterday hubby and I went downtown to celebrate St. Paddy's Day, it was fun we have never done that before. When I met my hubby 5 yrs ago he was active duty Marine Corps, so we had a long distance relationship, after we got married 3yrs ago he deployed a month later, when he returned I moved to CA to be with him. Last year after he got out we moved back to our hometown, but while moving I fell and broke my knee...so last year we didn't get to do a lot of fun things due to my knee problems. So, it's only been recent that we have been able to do some of the fun things our town has to offer.
Where we live is very close to downtown, so we were able to walk...so we shared 2 appetizers at 2 different places, we had sliders (one each) and shared an order of fries with blue cheese and bacon on top. I had a glass of cab and an Irish coffee, and 2 beers...I wish I hadn't had the beers, but other than that I feel good about food and the wine and coffee with whiskey. I know I cheated, but the bfc is more of a lifestyle for me rather than a diet, and a couple of drinks on a friday is a realistic part of my life.
Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now. I have a lot of chores to catch up on this weekend, I hope everyone has a nice saturday.
HI Katie, It is very expensive to be healthy isn't it? The seeds of change over my way is a wopping $6.99 a jar. It used to be $5.99. I know its a lot, but I put the jar in the fridge and it lasts me about 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you both had a good St Patty's diner. Don't worry about the once in a while cheats. It's fine, you are still doing great.
Have a great weekend :-)
Hey Katie! Sounds like you and hubby had a great time!! Good for you both!! Life happens and I believe that everything in moderation is ok...you just cant do that every day or it will wreak havoc on your waistline. I dont drink at all anymore ,I sowed my wild oats in my 20s. Now in my 40s I want to chew my calories..lol! I think the last time I had a drink was at my class reunion in August and I had 3 Smirnoff Ices. YUM! Did you celebrate your anniversary yet? Yes, eating healthy is ridiculously expensive isnt it? The way I see it, I dont smoke or drink so I spllurge on things like good water (I have a Culligan Water Dispenser) and ezekial bread, fruits etc. I have just been watching my carb intake lately...Im attending Weight Watchers and it is working for me so I am not gonna fix it if it aint broke. I think BFC is a great program but I find that I miss eating fruit and my Dannon Light & Fit yogurt. I eat alot of whole foods and have really just eliminated processed foods from my diet and I feel great! Not to say I wont hop back on BFC again. Just gonna keep doing what is working for me now. Have a great weekend girl!! ((Sherri))
ReplyDeleteRosalie, I know it sounds funny but thanks for saying how much seeds of change costs in CA, because so many times I find myself thinking the bfc would be so much easier if we still lived in CA, with trader joe's, henry's and whole foods. But then I remind myself there is no easy option, it boils down to our choices and our persistance.
ReplyDeleteSherri, I also agree that moderation is ok as long as you don't make a habit of it. Our anniversarry is coming up April 5th, and I want to feel good about myself and for hubby. I think that not being so strict doin the bfc and instead more focusing on ww is working for you, and that's awesome. Everyone is so different and we need to find what is realistic for us to do in the long run, because short term diets don't work, lifestyle changes do. Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing awesome!!!!
