This is my first blog and I am a little nervous. I am 28, married and I live in WA state. I am looking to lose those pesky 10-15 lbs. I have been doing the bfc for just a little over a month. At first it was hard to wrap my mind around the concept of how important sugars from fruits and veggies is, it seems to go against everything that I had learned before, which was unlimited amounts of fruits and veggies.
Before starting the bfc my diet was pretty decent. I recently gave up flavored coffee creamer...which was a really big thing for me. I always would say there was no point in drinking coffee without creamer. My husband would always make fun of me, and after MUCH prodding on his part I finally tried black coffee...much to my surprise I found I liked it. Which is good because I was consuming a lot of sugar in my creamer. I liked the Nestle brand the best, a serving size of their creamer is 2Tbs which has 5g of sugar per serving...2Tbs of creamer was never enough for me so who knows how much sugar I drank in my coffee every day. We are big coffee drinkers...most of WA state is.
Another big thing I learned is just how important it is to stay away from all fake sugars. I had pretty much given them up after I learned they are linked to depression but I was still willing to eat them in my light yogurt and other hidden sources I'm sure. I didn't realize just how bad fat free and low fat products were...I now know they are full of fake and real sugar.
Anyway I guess that's enough for my first post. Today has been a good and a bad day...good because all my special valentines day clothes fit...bad because I discovered this afternoon that my car was stolen....which makes me glad we are allowed 2 glasses of wine on the bfc!!!!
Oh my gosh, that's terrible that someone stole your car!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the fake sugar are hard for a lot of people to get their head around. My MIL refuses to give it up despite the negatives. Even with the new alternatives such as Truvia, she won't switch. I keep hoping someday she will.
