5th Week BFC day 7

Today is Sunday. The sun was out and it was a beautiful day. I have a lot to be thankful for today. Last year my husband were moving home back to WA state after he got out of the military. While at a friend's apt in San Francisco I slipped while doing lunges and broke my left knee cap. It hurt but the most disturbing part was seeing part of my knee cap in my thigh...well, long story short I had to have surgery lots of therapy and two more surgeries to remove hardware. My dreams of being a model were crushed by the 5inch scar on my knee...just kidding I never ever wanted to be a model.

today I ate...Brunch: breakfast tacos. 4 mission corn tortillas. with eggs. potatoes. turkey breakfast links. cilantro. cheese. sour cream. coffee.
Dinner: I had dinner at my sister-in-laws, it was very nice of her to have us over, but I think it was belly unfriendly. She made apple cider from fresh apples.. I only drank a little, but I think that was too much. We had swiss steak over mashed potatoes which were made with sugar rich milk. (I hate milk, I think it's gross, full of sugar and not the best source of calcium) Sauteed mini sweet peppers and asparagus. We had homemade banana bread for dessert. It didn't take long for my sore gassy tummy to let me know I had been belly bad. I didn't want to be a rude guest, I guess I could have declined the apple cider, and banana bread and skipped the mashed potatoes...but I was hungry, I guess I could have had a snack at home first....I guess that's why they say hindsight is always 20/20

  1. Oh my gosh!!! How horrible. I hate lunges anyhow, but this really makes me not want to do them anymore.

  2. Ouch Katie!!! Cant imagine breaking my kneecap and I am with minichick...HATE doing lunges!! lol. Forgive & move on with the dinner. Tomorrow is always a new day to wipe the slate clean! Life happens and it WAS nice of your sister in law to invite you to dinner. Sounds like she went to alot of work to make a nice supper! :)When my sister in law cooks, its always cold & usually not very good.

  3. Sherri, I guess I sounded a little ungrateful about dinner at my sister-in-law's...I didn't mean to sound that way, we had a wonderful evening and it was really sweet of her to have us over for dinner...she has a lot of health problems and often doesn't even feel good enough to go out for coffee.
I just meant that I probably should have passed on the apple cider, and banana bread, since I knew they were high in sugar. I'm still tryin to figure out how to stay belly friendly with meals others make, without making a big deal over sugar.
