Thanks guys for such nice and helpful comments!!! Good idea on using my crock pot, they are so practical and there are a lot of recipes out there for them. I did not get zumba in this morning cuz I was super tired so I did it after work. I'm glad I put it off cuz I worked 12hrs today and I usually only work 8. But it wasn't crazy busy, just several things that took a long time. Since I have worked extra this week I think I am going to spend that money on an bfc order to amazon especially since I can't get a some products here I really want to try like natures hollow and joseph's products. When I finish my list I will post it so you can give me feedback on what products you guys like and think it would be worth ordering.
I am happy to share that I am learning a little discipline these days, I have been saying No to all my regular high carb beers. I still love them and would like to drink them but right now I just see them as roadblocks to where I want to be. I have a sexy pair of jeans I bought last year on sale that I needed to lose 10-15 lbs to fit in, right now they fit but I want them to fit better...muffin top is not sexy. It is a realistic goal to fit into them comfortably and with discipline and persistence I know I can do it.

16th Week BFC Day 4
Hello everyone. I did not intend my blog yesterday to sound negative I just found myself thinking how life is less than ideal and what to do in those situations. I have been thinking about how to set yourself up for success and be realistic at the same time. For example several weeks ago hubby and I were grocery shopping and I wanted to buy a bag of chicken tenders and hubby wanted to buy a whole chicken cuz it was a better deal...but I pointed out that I had just started a new job and we should be realistic about me working and having time to make dinner. Cooking a whole chicken during the week when you work until 6:30 is not realistic.
It's been a long busy week, one of my co-workers is having back problems so I have been doing several 10 hr days and doing the work of two, but I'm a team player and I'm not complaining. I have been hauling my butt out of bed at 5:30 this week to do 20 min of zumba before breakfast. It has been super hard for me to get up and do it, I am not a morning person. I usually get up at 6 and work at 10 and I have plenty of time to exercise and get ready on my normal schedule. I have been doing the zumba 20 min express and I also have the cardio party. That's all of zumba I have done, but I like it and I'm gonna try to stick with it.
Breakfast: egg sandwich with pepper jack on 2 slices Ezekiel 4:9 bread, black coffee
Morning snack: 1/4c oatmeal 1/4c blueberries handful walnuts, black coffee
Lunch: stir-fry with garlic and fresh basil, summer squash, zuc, mushrooms, asparagus, chicken. Mini green olives and 1 square ghiradelli chocolate with peanut butter on top. lots of water during the day
Afternoon snack: worked late and was hungry 4 saltines with tiny peanut butter and tiny nutella
Dinner: hubby made us dinner :) thin pork chops asparagus and potato wedges with sour cream
*20 min zumba before breakfast

16th Week BFC Day 3
Hello everyone, I'm gonna keep this short cuz I'm tired. I've been thinking today about how life is often less than ideal. For example doing the bfc ideally we make our own food at home that way we know how much sugar and carb are in things....but what to do when that doesn't work out. Sometimes it seems we just don't have enough time to try to plan and make it happen. I think we just have to keep trying, keep working hard and figuring it out. Like last night when I had an arby's sandwich I could have had only half the bun instead of the whole sandwich. Or when I go places I can bring bfc friendly, vegans and vegetarians have been doing it for a long time so why can't I? I think sometimes I haven't because I don't want to draw attention to myself in what I am doing food wise.
What I have been learning is life is good, but too much sugar is terrible and fake sugar is worse. I read in a magazine at work that fake sugar can cause hair to thin...crazy huh.
Diana I love zumba, I love doing it in my own living room instead in a class so no one can see my lack of rhythm or inability to shake my hips. Doing 20 mins in the morning is something that is realistic for me and I am trying hard to keep it up. I did my 20 mins this morning before breakfast even though it was super hard to get out of bed early enough to do it.
I love you guys and I think about you during my day. I wish we could have some coffee together and maybe a bfc friendly snack. I hope everyone has a great Thursday :)

16th Week BFC Day 2
Well today was a good day for me but not for everyone. A friend from work found out her friend was in a head on accident on the freeway and her pelvis and both femurs are broken and her feet are messed up she's young probably 21. And another friend's brother who was bipolar committed suicide. I feel so bad for her....life sucks.
Hubby found out yesterday that he had high cholesterol, the dr. is gonna give him 3-6 months to try to lower it on his own or she is gonna put him on pills. He has a family history of heart disease and high cholesterol. What he really needs to do is cut down his cheese and exercise. He is kinda following the bfc but he is not as strict as me. Although today I cheated and had arby's for dinner a bacon cheese roast beef sandwich and several curly fries. I got off at 6:30 tonight and we had to go grocery shopping cuz our weekend trip messed with our usual shopping deal.
This morning I did 20 min pilates before breakfast and zumba after...I did the cardio party zumba today which is longer than the 20 min one I have been doing. I love it, I don't feel like I am just waiting for it to get over like a lot of exercise tapes..and the music is so catchy it stays in my head at work.
Breakfast: 1/2c oatmeal walnuts, blackberry barleans black coffee
Lunch: tomato basil mushroom moz crust less quiche, sauteed summer squash, broccoli, mushrooms with basil, 1 square ghiradelli with peanut butter black coffee
Dinner: arby's bacon, cheddar roast beef sandwich several curly fries
Pilates 20 min before breakfast. zumba cardio party after breakfast.

16th Week BFC Day 1...I am a Grandmaster Salad Maker
Hello everyone and thank you for such nice feedback :) I really enjoyed our weekend away and I didn't feel like I missed anything. That one bite of cheesecake was enough, I think my taste buds have changed I don't like things as sweet as I used to. My hubby ate two slices and he didn't feel good the next day. Now that I look back I think I would have been happy having two drinks on Friday, because on Saturday I didn't drink at all. That is a very big step for me, I really enjoy the taste of good beer, wine and some booze. But, the less I drink the more I actually enjoy having less drinks when I do drink. And I agree with you Rosalie I don't think having a drink or two every day is a good idea...cuz I notice that it seems to stall my progress, or make me take as step backwards.
I know what you mean Kay about sweets being a slippery slope, most of the time it's best just to stay away but dark chocolate is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth with little sugar. My favorite is ghirardelli midnight reverie 86% dark 1-2 squares is perfect and it isn't as bitter as some dark chocolates.
Today at work I resisted some yummy cake balls someone brought in. A co-worker told me how to make them and they have to be super duper high in sugar. You bake a box cake, while the cake is still warm mix it up with a can of frosting, form it into balls and then cover in more frosting or chocolate. Sounds good and very belly bad to me. People at work make comments on how healthy I eat I tell them that hubby and I purpose to do so...heart disease runs in our family and my Dad and his Mom have both had heart attacks and we want to do all we can to prevent ourselves having one. I get lots of comments on my salads, cuz they are always yummy and hearty. I told everyone today that I am a Grandmaster Salad Maker :) I've been eating super yummy salads for a long time, but pre-bfc I'm sure they had lots of sugar from fruit. And a lot of my old favorite salad dressings are high in sugar...the other day someone at work was using lite house tangy orange vin is has a whopping 12g of sugar per serving.
Yesterday hubby and I tried clemmy's vanilla bean ice cream...sooo yummy :) Since we don't get clemmy's here I guess I will have to get creative with our ice cream maker.
Breakfast: 1/2c oatmeal with blackberry barleans and walnuts, black coffee
Lunch: watercress salad, heriloom tomato, sliced almonds, pepper jack cheese, tuna, kalamata olives, celery, cucumber blackberry barleans as dressing
Dinner: 1 small baked red potato with butter 1 baby bell cheese
20 min zumba before breakfast although it was hard to get going this morning, but since Helen can do it for 100 days in a row I guess I can do it too :) Pilates after work.
To anyone who is feeling discouraged and like the bfc is not working just give it time and stick it out. Don't give up, keep on plugging away. Anything worth having is worth working for :)

15th Week BFC Day 7...Our trip was fun and belly good :)
Hello friends and Happy Easter. We just got home and our trip was so much fun I did pretty good on my food choices :) First of all I am happy with how drinking went, we got some bud light with lime for me which on the back of the bottle it has 116 calories and 8g of carb, which is pretty cool that they put that info on the back usually it's a pain in the ass to find the info on beer. I like the taste and I am not missing my usual high carb beers. Friday night I had two shots of woodford reserve bourbon which has 0 carb and 0 sugar in a glass with ice and I sipped it slowly and enjoyed it, then I had two bud light with lime. I know Jorge says that we can have two drinks but I really wanted a little of both. I felt fine the next day so I think once in a while a little more is ok....what do you guys think?
In the car we snacked on peanuts, hard boiled eggs, baby bell cheese, and some sobe lifewater. The lifewater is too sweet for me and I don't like having to figure it in as a serving of carbs. I'm glad we had snacks we had a 2 hr delay due to an overturned semi :(
When we got there I snacked on water and a flax muffing thing while my hubby and our friend started drinking beer. I read an awesome book about how good chocolate is for us while I waited for his wife to get off work (since hubby and his bf were in their own world, which is good for them to have guy time) I will start sharing what I am learning from this book soon. For dinner we had chicken we were going to have asparagus, but the guys forgot about it, lol no big deal. Another couple came over and we had a great evening. I had one bite of this yummy cheese cake and didn't have a problem staying strong even when they told me I could have a little piece....(Thank you Rosalie for helping me to find some confidence in sticking up for myself).
Whole Foods was a big disappointment, they didn't have any nature's hollow or joseph's products. I guess I will have to order that stuff from amazon. We did get some clemmy's ice cream, and I tried a think thin bar, which is a protein bar sweetened with malitol instead of sugar...it was just ok I don't like the weird texture and taste of protein bars.
It was a great weekend, next time I travel I need to bring some fiber, and more flax muffing things. The flax muffins are a great snack and a good source of fiber. I feel good about what I ate this weekend. I thought a weekend away would be a lot harder but it wasn't. When in doubt bring some belly good food to eat instead. I also brought smart and delicious tortillas to eat with breakfast.

15th Week BFC Day 3
Hello friends, so much to say I'm not sure where to start. I guess I have to say thanks for the support, I chose not to eat the cake for me and not because I knew I shouldn't or to be able to tell everyone I didn't. Making the bfc a lifestyle has had some big challenges, mostly in the way I view food mostly food that is belly bad. In the beginning I knew beer was high in carb but I drank it anyway and a couple of times too much. I have allowed myself to indulge in cake at work. I think it's ok to have those things once in a while, but the problem was I noticed that one cheat would lead to another and I would justify all of it. Sound familiar to anyone?
I love the bfc community, being able to share and connect is the reason I am still doing the bfc, because there have been plenty of times I felt like nothing was happening. My hubby helps keep me grounded during my times of doubt. The weight is coming off slowly, but I think the lifestyle changes are the best. I avoid fake sugar, limit real sugar and chose better carbs in smaller portions.
Marjie, thank you for sharing you are such a sweetie, and I appreciate you checking up on me. Congrats to you for losing your muffin top and keepin it off. Reading the bfc blogs is a great way to keep your head in the game. When I first started the bfc I was looking for a blog from Jorge and that's how I stumbled upon Amber's blog..I found her to be more helpful than the bfc book and from her blog is how I found the rest of the girls and was inspired to start my own blog. Crazy about your daughter and the shampoo causing her rash, I tried the shampoo you are talking about several years ago and didn't like it because I felt it was getting rid of my natural highlights. Thank you for sharing, I never thought to look at shampoo as a source of facial skin problems.
Today was my second day of zumba, and it is growing on me, no wonder it is so popular. I downloaded the cardio party and I am excited to try that out...but the 20 min one is a realistic start for me. And thank you Helen, I didn't think it was gonna be ok to drink coffee so I guess I can wait until morning cardio is done. I am so proud of the example you are setting for all of us.
Tomorrow we leave for our trip to see hubby's best friend for his 30th bday. I am excited to see him and his wife and to just get out of town for the weekend. They have a whole foods so I am going to try some of the products I can't get here, and if I like them I will put in a big order at amazon. I want to try natures hollow preserves, joseph's cookies and clemmys...I am super excited for clemmys. I am going to take food so I can be on track with the bfc. I don't want to make a big deal out of what I am doing, but I do want to feel good about what I ate come monday morning. I am not looking to cheat because it was a special occasion. Anytime I have cheated for what I told myself was a special occasion has set me back a week. You know what I mean?
I told hubby we need to get some new pics this weekend to share, (he doesn't like this pic of him with his blemish on his forehead lol) Well, I guess that's all for now...I hope everyone has a belly good weekend :)

15th Week BFC Day 2...I didn't eat the chocolate costco cake :)
Hello, thanks for the awesome comments, you guys are rock stars. I am sore today from the zumba, but it's a good kinda sore. On to the good news, there was chocolate costco cake at work and I didn't have ANY! I feel so good about myself, because any other time I have had a small piece. But I thought to myself if those little cake pops at starbucks have 18g of sugar in them, how much sugar would I be getting in a piece of frosted cake. And I thought about all the good things that I have learned from everyone and I said no to myself...my goals are more important to giving in, and telling myself it's ok because I don't do it very often and I deserve it.
I did have a bite size nestle crunch at work today, and it tasted like crap. I could taste the waxy chocolate. I used to have a roommate who grew up in France because her parents were missionaries and she loved loved loved chocolate. She always had nutella, chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate around, but she hated the cheaper chocolate because she said she could taste the wax. Dark chocolate that is 60% cacao or higher is amazing for us, it lowers blood pressure, is heart healthy, and helps keep us happy....amen to that.
Breakfast: burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, pepper jack cheese, sour cream, smart and delicious tortilla, black coffee
Lunch: salad with romaine, chicken, bacon, green onion (green pt only) walnuts, olive oil and vin dressing, bite size nestle crunch
Dinner; another breakfast burrito, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, sour cream, pepper jack cheese, tea smart and delicious tortilla
*20 min pilates on an empty stomach...well, I hope coffee doesn't count, if it does please let me know Helen :)

15th Week BFC Day 1
Hello to all! Today was another decent day with crazy spring weather. Hubby brought our new ford taurus home today...whoo hoo. I am super glad to have a car again with the crazy gas prices...we were borrowing a taho until we got our car.
* Randi, thanks for the nice comment, I know I have said it before but I'll say it again, you inspire me and I hope to be in the mid-low 130's soon.
*Kay, there is sugar free candy that we can have, I love the dove sugar free creme's I buy them at walmart, you just have to keep in mind to count the carbs...but 1-2 is perfect and raspberry is my favorite. My problem that I need to watch out for is the hard candies that look like strawberries at work, I'm sure they are high in sugar and are not belly good.
*Marjorie, great to hear from you I would love to hear how you are doing on the bfc. Right now I am doing malibu pilates my Mom gave me a pilates chair and I have been doing their dvd's. But, I have also done and really like the windsor pilates, and Denise Austin's pilates...I hope that helps :)
Breakfast: 1 flax seed muffiny thing with almond butter and barleans, black coffee, peach tea with benefiber, 2 scrambled eggs
Lunch: salad with butter lettuce, roast beef, pepper jack cheese, kalamata olives, radishes, celery olive oil and vin dressing, edamame
Dinner: butter lettuce and romaine salad with chicken, bacon, feta, sliced almonds, green part of green onions, 1-2 glasses cab.
* 22nd day Pilates and my first day of zumba 20 min express

14th Week BFC Day 7 Probiotics make us healthier
Hello friends, thanks for the encouragement I truly appreciate all of you!!! Today was a great day, busy busy at work but I'm not complaining. No cheats today, and I feel good. I did pilates twice today before and after work I think I'm gonna try to do that all week. I took a cue from Rosalie and I put benefiber in my coffee this morning. Hubby has high school youth group tonight and I really wanted to stop for some food on the way home, but I thought about how badly I want to get to my goals and I resisted. I had a can of tuna and olives for dinner instead, strange I know but I didn't feel like cooking and it filled me up.
I read an awesome article in Women's World April 4th Magazine that I want to share. The title of the article is The Bacteria that can make you healthier...you guessed it Probiotics.
1. Probiotics prevent infection by boosting immune function. Our digestive tracts produce up to half of our immune cells and it needs healthy bacteria to function properly.
2. Probiotics shield our heart by lowering blood fats. Probiotics help block cholesterol absorption in the digestive tract and help improve how our liver functions and helps to lower the production of artery clogging fats.
3. Ease stomach woes by pushing out bad bacteria. Probiotics help heal and strengthen the digestive tract, and helps to reduce bloating, constipation, gas and diarrhea.
4. Soothe irritated skin by quashing inflammation. Probiotics can help cut flare ups of eczema, allergies and other skin problems by kick starting the production of skin healing anti-inflammatory compounds.
Breakfast: 1/2c oatmeal, walnuts, barleans, black coffee 2 fried eggs with pesto
Lunch: stir fry with kale, celery, asparagus, green beans, yellow squash, leftover roast beef
Dinner: tuna and kalamata olives

14th Week BFC Day 6 also known as Sunny Monday
Good morning friends, today is a better day I don't feel so emotional/hormonational. Thank you Rosalie for such a nice comment you are such an encouragement to me. I love your newest video, I felt like you were speaking directly to me. I am gonna stick to the bfc even though I wanted to quit yesterday although that was because I was cranky due to my period.
I don't know how much I weigh, but I feel good even though I am a little bloated due to my period. Yesterday hubby told me I am losing weight in my lower back, and I agree with him. That makes me feel good because my lower back/love handles is an area I have always had trouble with. My thighs are also getting slimmer and my jeans fit better. I am losing weight slowly, but that is ok with me, I am trying to make the bfc a lifestyle change and not just a diet.
This week I am going to work on a couple of things:
* Pilates in the morning
*Lots of water all day
* Making sure to get enough fiber in
* Staying away from the hard candy dish at work, those little candies that look like strawberries have been calling my name, and all they do is slow my progress.
* Staying positive
Well, I guess that's all for now. I am going to purpose to have a good day and not cheat!!! I love all of you, please continue to post comments your feedback is so helpful I really want to continue to grow and get better with the bfc lifestyle. :)

14th Week BFC Day 5 also known as Cranky Sunday
Hello friends, I am on my period and my mood is all over the place...the sun was out this morning and I felt great, it's now gone and I feel like crap...I am having a bad hair day and I feel fat. And to add to the things that annoy me today at church someone told me they saw someone yesterday who used to be my best friend until she dumped me 2 weeks before my wedding. I felt awkward and it brought up a bunch of bad feelings. You know what I could really use a drink, but I'm not going to. I think I will take a nap instead but first I have to pick up hubby from a meeting at church.
On a better note yesterday was an awesome day, I got my grocery shopping and laundry done and we cleaned our apt. My folks came over for dinner and we had a wonderful time. Hubby made a roast, red baked potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms and I had 2 glasses of red wine. My folks brought Sadie (their 2 year old golden retriever) over because we love her and I wanted to see her. She is the best dog one of these days I will post a pic of her and pics of myself and hubby. She is so funny a two year old little boy lives above us and he was making some noise and Sadie went looking for the source of the noise in the kitchen, it was really cute. She is like a toddler herself she wants to know everything you are doing and she wants to come in the bathroom with you.
Well, I guess that's all for now. At least I did some pilates this morning, I hope everyone else is having a better Sunday.
Breakfast: 1/2c oatmeal, walnuts, black coffee, barleans
Lunch: flax muffing thing with almond butter
Snack: 1 baby bell cheese
Dinner: roast, asparagus, mushrooms, 1 small red baked potato with butter, sour cream and blue cheese, 2 glasses red wine.

14th Week BFC Day 4...Friday Rocked
Hello friends, I am so glad the weekend is finally here...whoo hoo. Friday was the best day, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed but when I got to work a super funny patient changed my mood. Which was the best thing that could have happened cuz we were super busy, but it was great and I loved it I earned my money for sure. Everybody was joking about wanting to drink after surgery and how good they felt on their pain meds, I find that funny I have a dry sense of humor and I like to joke about that stuff.
I got of work late and when I got home hubby and I decided to go out to dinner, we went to a restaurant I have been wanting to try it's the second location of the cool pub by our house, and like a lot of things I think the original is the best. I was disappointed cuz unless I ordered a burger sans bun it felt there was nothing I could eat. So we didn't stay for dinner hubby had a beer and I had a glass of cab. It was nice to relax over a drink. We then tried a little Mexican restaurant by my hubby's uncles house that he told us about. I think I did good, I only had a few chips and I had 2 corn tortilla tacos with carne asada...so yummy I didn't miss having rice and beans.
This weekend we invited my folks over for dinner instead of us going to their house as we always do. I called my Mom yesterday and she was so cute on the phone, she got so excited. We haven't had both of them over for dinner to our new place yet, when we were taking care of a farm they came over a lot, but now we are in an apt...and it's a lot smaller, but it will be cozy :)
Well I guess that's all for now...you guys are awesome I am inspired and encouraged by the blogs I read and the comments that are left on mine :)
Breakfast: 1/2c oatmeal with strawberry barleans and chopped walnuts, black coffee
Lunch: I took eggs spinach sauteed mushrooms and asparagus put it in a baking dish with blue cheese and made a sort of quiche dish. I ate that as sort of a breakfast filling in a smart and delicious tortilla with sour cream....I think the smart and delicious tortillas are growing on me...and some yummy Guatemalan coffee some co-workers brought back with them after a medical mission.
Snack: 1 square ghiradelli midnight reverie, more black coffee
Dinner: 1 glass red wine, several tortilla chips, 2 carne asada tacos on 4 small corn tortillas.

14th Week BFC Day 3
Good news today we got a car!!! Whoo hoo!!! For anyone who doesn't know our car was stolen from our designated parking spot behind our apt Feb 11th...they found the car two weeks later, and it was determined that it was totaled. Thankfully we had comprehensive insurance on it in case something like that happened. So, we were borrowing a taho from my husband's boss until we got a car. Today we got a 2003 white ford taurus that was a government turn back with only 16,000 miles on it. I am so grateful to have a car again, I have loved the taho, but I always feel nervous that something will happen and it's not ours.
Today the weather was crappy which was especially disappointing because it started out sunny. My mood matched the weather, I realized when I was cranky for no good reason that I am pmsing. I think I need to go tanning, it's not something I do often, in fact I haven't in several years, but our weather is so crappy and I think a nice couple of weeks would do me some good. I know it is bad for you, but what isn't? Up here in Washington we are coffee addicts and we suffer from the seasonal disorder SAD to some degree. But I have to wait to tan until I am done with my antibiotics I am taking for this rash on my face, it's a problem I've had before I have sensitive skin. I learned the hard way that when they tell you that your medication will make you sensitive to the sun they mean it. Several years ago I was on an antibiotic and I was out for only 1-2hrs without sunblock and I got a terrible terrible burn, I could actually feel my skin burning when I was outside.
Well, I guess that's all for now...I hope everyone has an awesome Friday :)
Breakfast: 2 flax seed muffiny things with strawberry barleans, almond butter, redi whip, black coffee and some weird juice I made: mustard greens (gross, I don't even know why I bought them) spinach, celery, lemon, ginger
Lunch: spinach salad with chicken, asparagus, cashews, peanuts, blue cheese, kalamata olives, summer squash, ranch dressing...too much crap in my salad and it didn't sit right in my tummy :(
Dinner: toast with butter, 1 baby bell. black coffee with 1 shot brandy

14th Week BFC Day 2
Hello friends, today was a busy day boy howdy I am glad to be home now. Hubby is gone for the evening, he won some kinda nascar dinner at work, I'm sure he is having fun...I didn't feel like cooking so I had yogurt with strawberry barleans and pumpkin seeds for dinner. I love the barleans, I often use it instead of jam.
I still feel torn about how to handle drinking during our friends bday weekend, I don't know, but I do know that I am going to have a plan before I go or else I will throw caution to the wind and party with the rest of them. I told hubby last night that I really want to do good on the bfc for myself, I don't want to throw in the towel and I don't want to keep cheating myself. Anyway, not too much else to say today.
Breakfast 2 flax seed muffing things, one with almond butter, one with strawberry barleans. black coffee. spinach, ginger, celery, lemon juice.
Lunch: stir fry with shirataki noodles, edamame, mushrooms, celery, asparagus
Snack hazelnuts and black coffee
Dinner greek yogurt, pumpkin seeds, psyllium husks

14th Week BFC Day 1...Time to buckle down on the BFC
Hello friends, all of you are amazing and inspiring. I just finished reading your current posts for today and I feel inspired. I am willing to give up my little cheats here and there to find success for myself...no more bites of cake at work, or nutella I'm really gonna do it and not make little excuses. That said next weekend my will power will be tested because hubby and I are taking a little road trip to see his best friend for his 30th bday. In the past we have ate lots of sugary bbq and drank a lot. We already plan to bring a tri tip from costco to make sans bbq sauce. Do you guys think that if I have 1 whiskey on the rocks and nurse it all night that would allow me to share in the fun without cheating? This is something I have been thinking a lot about.
Anyway, today I felt better about things at work, a good night's rest did me good. If I have to move depts no big deal, I like my job and I am grateful to have one. Thank you for all the nice comments yesterday, you guys are very compassionate and understanding. As far as juicing goes I am going to stick with the low sugar items I eat and see how that goes, cleaning the juicer is a pain in the ass, so we will see how long I keep this up.
Breakfast: 2 flax seed muffing things that I used to make a breakfast pb&j...with almond butter and 1/4c frozen blueberries instead of jam...black coffee. celery, romaine, and lemon juice...strange but good.
Lunch: romaine salad with chicken, sliced almonds, blue cheese, ranch dressing, celery, radishes, 1 small yellow squash (the kind that looks like a zucchini) asparagus. black coffee
Snack; macadamia nuts
Dinner: 1 smart and delicious tortilla with crust less quiche inside much like a breakfast burrito with sour cream. It was a fast and yummy dinner and perfect after working late. Peach tea and 1 sugar free reeses mini peanut butter cup.

13th Week BFC Day 7
Hello friends, I hope everyone had a nice Monday. I had a strange day, I felt anxious and nervous for most of the day...because at work some of my co-workers are moving depts and I might have to work in an area I don't want to since I am low man on the totem poll. I was able to catch my boss in a good moment to tell him that I really like working where I am and would prefer to stay there if possible. I hope it all works out only time will tell...whatever happens I am very grateful to have a job. Things were getting stressful at home, I'm sure everyone can relate to money stress.
Anyway, after work I went grocery shopping I bought a lot of greens today, mustard greens, kale, chard I am planning to have a good food week. I really wanted a glass of wine tonight, but I am breaking from bad habits of drinking to deal with stress, I feel good about myself and the progress I am making. It helps that we don't have any alcohol in the house.
Yesterday after I wrote my blog hubby and I cheated and went to cold stone to use a gift certificate from Christmas, it was only the 2nd time hubby and I have gone out for ice cream together....and holy crap I just looked up the info and the small like it size I got of cake batter with oreos added in for a grand total of 42g of sugar. Just about three days sugar in a tiny bowl. CRAZY.
Well, I'm back on the wagon now and I don't feel bad about my cheat yesterday I'm just gonna do well the rest of the week. It's easy to let one cheat lead to another but I'm not gonna go down that rabbit hole again. I've been inspired by Kasey and her juicing. When we lived in CA hubby and I juiced a lot, we bought a juicer/food processor from the folks who make the bagic bullet...it worked great for a year, then died on us. Today I used an old juicer from my grandparents the miracle juicer. It's kinda a pain in the ass to clean, but I can live with that. Today I juiced some celery, Italian parsley and ginger...very yummy.
Breakfast: 1/2c oatmeal, sliced almonds, strawberry barleans
Snack: 1 smart and delicious tortilla, crustless quiche
Lunch: salad with spinach, radishes, asparagus, celery, sliced almonds, blue cheese, kalamata olives...I ate half for lunch and the rest for dinner
Dinner: rest of salad, celery, parsley and ginger juice

13th Week BFC Day 6
Hello friends, where did the weekend go? I can hardly believe it is already Sunday afternoon. Today is a better day, and thank you Rosalie and Helen for the nice comments yesterday. Hubby and I made up, and my friend sent me a txt this morning saying she was just busy, although that it would have been nicer if she had told me that several days ago...but whatever I'm over it and moving on.
Today I slept a lot, drank lots of french press coffee, had some crust less quiche I made and a little white lasagna. Hubby and I drove around and looked at houses. We are hoping to get a starter house sometime this summer/winter...we are just starting to do our homework on it.
I hope everyone had a good weekend. :)

13th Week BFC Day 5
Hello friends, today was a sad day for me. My folks had a maple tree in their backyard that we has got for my Mom for Mother's Day 10-15 years ago that had to be cut down :( It had a big spit in it and it they have known that it has needed to come down for several years, well today was the day. The backyard looks so bare without it. Sadie my folks dog was bothered by it too, she is a snuggly lovey dog but today she was extra needy and wanted to be by someone at all times...poor Sadie she is a sweetie and I love her so much.
Anyway, not much else to say we did our laundry as usual and hung out with my folks. I'm a little annoyed at some things in my life right now I have a friend that has blown off my txt, phone call and fb messages, and it hurts my feelings. Hubby and I just had a stupid argument, and I am annoyed at him. And we just realized tonight that we made plans to go out of town Eater weekend and hubby is irritated with us for not being here to spend Easter at church and with family.I just had to vent a little.
This coming week I plan to be a little tighter on the bfc...my weight is up .5 lb this week from the indulgences I had: wine, chocolate torte, pizza, brandy in my coffee. I'm inspired by what Sherri said today in her post...she was diligent this last week and mixed it up and lost. I am so happy for her, and for everyone when they find success. So, I plan on using my journal to keep track of my s/c values and not drink, I think that is a good realistic plan for me.

13th Week BFC Day 4
Hello friends, Happy Friday TGIF!!! Thank you for such nice comments, you guys rock. One of these days I will post pictures, I just need to take some current ones :) Today was an unusually beautiful day up here in my neck of the woods. I had a half day at work because we had a bomb drill and a staff meeting,...when I came home I cleaned and opened up the apt to get some fresh air. I love a nice smelling place, our apt can get some strange smells cuz the folks before us smoked inside, and it is poorly insulated so smoke comes in the windows. I have a new favorite candle, it's called jump for joy by glade, it has orange, apple, mango, pineapple and black currant...it is perfect for spring and it lifts my mood. When hubby got home we got some coffee and drove around and looked at houses for sale we are hoping to get into a starter house sometime this summer/fall.
I called the dr. today and they told me that I just need to give the medicine more time to work for the irritation around my nose. I agree with you Rosalie...at least I have concealer :) I'm glad I called, it made me feel better.
Helen I have been doing pilates and I really like it, I have several dvd's, and I also have a malibu pilates chair my Mom gave me. I don't know how to describe the chair, but it's been really helping me get my knee stronger and more flexible. I used to go to the gym all the time, but we don't have a membership right now, and I like trying to work out before work. I have a 20 min tape that I try to do before breakfast, you inspire me Helen with your diligence and consistency.
Breakfast: 1 left over pork chop and turkey sasauge and black coffee...I didn't have enough time before work to eat anything else cuz I woke up kinda late.
Lunch: 2 slices of pizza work provided for lunch..super yummy
Dinner: steak and eggs

I have a 20 min tape that I try to do before breakfast, you inspire me Helen with your diligence and consistency.
Breakfast: 1 left over pork chop and turkey sasauge and black coffee...I didn't have enough time before work to eat anything else cuz I woke up kinda late.
Lunch: 2 slices of pizza work provided for lunch..super yummy
Dinner: steak and eggs

13th Week BFC Day 3
Thank you friends for your nice comments you guys rock. Yesterday for dinner I tried something that I have been thinking would be good for awhile and it wasn't...I took some shirataki noodles, put in pesto, chicken, parm and bacon and I thought it would be a yummy pasta type dish. Wrong. It was gross, and I ended up picking out the chicken and bacon. Hubby informed me that he doesn't like the shirataki noodles and he doesn't want them anymore. He is not a picky eater so it is funny to me when he has told me that he doesn't want something again....he hates spaghetti squash lol.
On a different note, I have this rash around my nose called peri-nasal dermatitis, it's something I've had before I don't know what causes it, my dr. say's some folks just get weird breakouts of dermatitis sometimes. Anyway, I saw the dr. last week and he gave me an antibiotic for it, which is what he did before and it went away...the problem is I don't think it's doing anything and I've been a taking it a full week. I am going to call tomorrow and see what they have to say, I'm just frustrated...I hate it and I want it to go away. At least concealer makes it not so bad...it's just annoying.
Breakfast: 2 flax muffiny things with strawberry barleans on top, coffee
Lunch: tuna sandwich on Ezekiel 4:9 bread, macadamia nuts, lettuce soup with sour cream...it was a recipe I tried from sunset magazine...strange but good.
Snack: 1 baby bell cheese, hazelnuts, black coffee
Dinner: 2 super thin pork chops, 1 Italian turkey sausage, broccoli, 1 artichoke

13th Week BFC Day 2
Hello friends, yesterday hubby and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary...whoo hoo. It's been a good three years, lots of good times and some tough times, but mostly good. Work has been slow this week so I got off early and we went and picked up our anniversary wine. We went out for dinner, we had wine a small pizza for an appetizer, I had fish and we shared a chocolate torte...it was a perfect dinner, and it wasn't too far off the bfc except probably for the wine (I had more than 2 glasses). Anyway it was a special occasion and we had a great time.
Yesterday I was looking at the pictures on our camera, and I found some belly pictures that we took only a few weeks after staring the bfc...and the awesome news is I can see that my muffin top is getting smaller, and my jeans fit better. I feel good about myself, and inspired to keep up the bfc.

I have been making the flax muffiny things lately, I have been making them pumpkin by adding a 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon...I have been looking for the ceylon cinnamon Jorge recommends and I am having a hard time finding it.
I made the yummiest salad today...chicken, spinach, 8 blackberries, blue cheese, asparagus, sliced almonds with a dressing I made with greek yogurt, olive oil, vinegar, chives salt and pepper.
Well, I guess that was kinda a random post...Keep up the bfc :)

13th Week BFC Day 1
Hi friends, you guys are awesome and I love reading your blogs. Today was a decent day, except I felt a little cranky when I got off work, and then when I got home my computer wasn't working...thankfully it is better now although I'm not really sure what was wrong. Tonight hubby watched the final game of college basketball, I really don't care so I made dinner and read a food network magazine my Mom bought for me.
Today we tried the smart and delicious tortillas...I might have to agree with Kay they are weird. After this package we might have to go back to corn tortillas. I had one for breakfast and for dinner we had breakfast burritos with bacon, scrambled eggs, chives, sour cream and cheese...very tasty and quick.
About beer can chicken, it's so easy to make all you need is a stand I bought mine at walmart for $5 in the grill section...you salt and pepper your chicken and take a can of pop, beer, juice basically anything works and doesn't affect the flavor and pour about half of the liquid out...you then put the butt part of the chicken over the can and stand...put a piece of citrus or potato in the neck and cook on the bbq for around 2 hrs. The chicken comes out super moist and tasty and all the grease goes into the can.
Fellow bfc friends you guys rock and I am very thankful for all of you. I know we can reach our goals...I propose a toast: cheers to a successful April...may it be another step towards our goals. :)

12th Week BFC Day 7
Good morning, it's Monday and the start to another work week. Yesterday was a super relaxing day, we did some chores, I got my hair trimmed and hubby filled up our propane tank for our bbq. Hubby made us beer can chicken for dinner, which is our favorite way to make a whole chicken. I love how all the grease goes into the can and I don't have to scrub the roasting pan. I also took a really nice nap and painted my nails which is something I don't do very often but I know hubby likes it when my nails look nice.
I feel proud of myself this weekend I only had one drink even though I felt like having several more. When we were at my folks I had a bud light with lime...and I thought not bad, I can see myself drinking this in the summer. This weekend I also picked up an acidophilus supplement because I am on an antibiotic and I don't want to get a yeast infection, I used to get acidophilus milk when I took antibiotics but not now that I know that milk is full of sugar. I was pleased to find out that acidophilus is considered a probiotic, which is something that Jorge recommends on the bfc.
Well, I guess that's all for now...I hope everyone has an awesome Monday

12th Week BFC Day 6
Hello everyone, Saturday just kinda flew on by, I am grateful to still have Sunday left. I did my grocery shopping today, and I found the smart and delicious tortillas they have been under my nose the whole time, I am very excited to try them. I also stocked up on shirataki noodles for quick and easy week night dinners.
I am very proud of my hubby, today he went for a run he has been wanting to get back into shape for awhile, and I'm glad to see him take steps to get there. I just hope he keeps it up. The bfc has been good to him, his face and belly are thinner. Today he went to the gun show with my Dad, they had a really nice time together and I'm glad they went.
We had dinner at my folks house we had quiche I know the crust is probably high in carbs, but it was so yummy, asparagus, butter lettuce salad with several strawberries and lemon barleans as a dressing. I have also been using my strawberry barleans as a salad dressing and it is super tasty. We also made dairy free coconut ice cream from the healthy indulgence blog. It was so yummy and perfect for the four of us.
Well, I guess that's all for now...keep up the good work bfc friends, little by little we will reach our goals.

12th Week BFC Day 5
A very early good morning to everyone, I can't sleep it's about 3am here. Last night when I got off work hubby had picked up some thin crust deLite pizza from papa murphy's, which was so nice because I was hungry hungry last night. The rest of the week I didn't eat that much for dinner cuz I wasn't hungry. I work at 10 so I have a snack around 12 and lunch 2-3ish and when I get off at 6:30-7ish I don't usually want to eat that much cuz we go to bed at 10-11ish. But last night boy howdy I was hungry.
We watched bravo's top chef all stars finale last night, I had mixed feelings about Richard winning he was kinda a jerk this season. I have watched all 8 seasons of top chef and hubby and I have watched probably 5 together. We don't have cable so we watch our stuff on hulu or we download it onto vuze. We don't plan on getting cable until football starts again, hubby is a huge huge college football fan and I am learning to love it. Several weeks ago the cable guy came to our door and offered us cable for $15 dollars a month and he was baffled when we told him we weren't interested.
So on my way home last night hubby asked me to stop and get some wine or beer, I told him that I didn't want to drink so he opted for a six pack of beer. I feel proud of myself for having some discipline and not having even one, because I love beer hubby has turned me on to some yummy beers. This is my second weekend not drinking and I feel good. I plan on having a glass of wine on Tues for our anniversary but other than that I'm on the wagon. :)
One of the things I love about having a blog is how therapeutic it is, I feel so much better when I have an outlet to get things off my chest. I also have a beautiful red journal that I use because in a blog you can't or shouldn't say every little bloody thing that is on your mind. I also love the sense of community that having a blog about the bfc I think it is the key to be staying with the bfc, because on my own I am sure I would have thrown in the towel. I would have thought this is not working for me and it is not worth it and I will always be this size. Rosalie and Amber have been so inspiring and encouraging because they show that if you stick to it and have patience and don't give up it can work. I am so grateful that I am now aware how terrible sugar is for us, it blow's my mind how many "healthy" diets are full of sugar. Just look at everything that is supposed to be heart smart, they have lowered the fat and added sugar. With the start of spring everyone wants to lose the winter weight for summer and every slim-down plan I see on the internet and in magazines is basically full of sugar, and it blows my mind. But not that long ago I was into those "healthy" eating plans, I thought low fat and low sugar and fake sugar was a good way to go.
Well, I guess that's enough for now...hang in there bfc friends we can do this!!!

12th Week BFC Day 4
April Fool's day...I got hubby good, before work I went to the bank and put money on our truck loan, and then I texted hubby and told him something was wrong with the account and to call me asap...I then texted him back and said it was all an April fools joke. He responded that I had really gotten him worked up for a min :) lol.
Anyway, not much to say I am tired tonight. I am grateful it's Friday TGIF!!!! Today I made some tasty variations on my flax muffiny thing...I put a tablespoon of coco powder in one with 2 packets stevia it was good not like a piece of cake or anything but it was good especially with redi whip on top. Another one I put a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and 2 stevia and redi whip on top, it was also very yummy.
